About

Hello and welcome!

I'm Tammy and I am a textile designer and illustrator based in Melbourne, Australia.

I hold a double degree in Textiles Design and Fine Art from RMIT University, where I specialised in Printmaking for the latter. As a child, my entire artistic life revolved around colours, textures and patterns. My earliest memory of dabbling with patterns would be doodling on the money envelopes that were given to my piano teacher on a weekly basis. Studying Printmaking at RMIT escalated these interests. Over the course of my Bachelor of Textiles Design degree, I created designs for POLITIX, T2 and Linen House.

Conceptually, I am passionate about combatting overconsumption and encouraging viewers to appreciate what exists rather than consume new things. My aim is to highlight the hidden wonders in nature and the little things that are often brushed aside on a daily basis.

My illustration style is detailed yet whimsical, with a strong focus on Australian botanical motifs. The inimitable nature of hand painting is something I value, and I enjoy working particularly with gouache, watercolour and fine liner.
